Giving Back

CSS Office Solutions Community Engagements

Over 35 years, we have taken many approaches to giving back to our community. We have a long history with the Ronald McDonald House and that relationship lead to our involvement with the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Our staff eagerly participates in the Hair Massacure where individuals dye their hair (and some beards) pink and others even go as far as shaving their heads to raise funds. It has become an experience that our staff can do together and take pride in as we work to help the kids.

We always take part in the Better Business Bureau’s annual food drive in support of the Calgary Food Bank. We love having our clients involved as we strive to provide a little support to those who may be struggling and need a hand.

Recently we changed the way we did things, we wanted our staff to have a real connection to the causes we were supporting, and we wanted to give our clients a way to support causes that are near and dear to our hearts. In October 2019 we did our first Chair Blitz, where 10% of the proceeds from each chair sold was donated to charities as nominated by our team.

We are proud to say that the effort was a huge success and we were able to donate to charities such as The Mustard SeedInn From The ColdDare to Dream Horse Rescue, and AARCS.

The support and enthusiasm we saw from our CSS Family was so inspiring, we created a new policy as of 2018 that allows our staff to volunteer for one day a year at the charity of their choice with pay. We are proud to announce that many members of our team have been out in the community helping out where they can and making us proud!

Interested in getting involved? Have an idea you’d like to run by us? We’d love to hear from you, contact us today.
CSS – Wayne and Adele Reid Scholarship

One Scholarship of variable value is awarded to a full-time student who will be enrolled in the second, third, or fourth year of any Bissett School of Business program in the upcoming fall semester. Recipient must have completed ENTR 2201 or 2301, as well as a DFS (directed field study) or co-op work term.

Criteria:
  1. Academic achievement;
  2. Financial need;
  3. Demonstrated determination and drive required to succeed as an entrepreneur
Anytime an opportunity exists to promote and encourage a student, it should be taken. Being able to provide financial assistance to a deserving individual looking to become an entrepreneur will always have a rewarding feeling. This Scholarship was structured many years ago by CSS’ original founders, and continues to provide a legacy in the Reid’s name. Over the years, CSS has received a number of thank you letters directly from the Scholarship recipient with gratitude being expressed for the assistance it provided. It’s inspiring for CSS to be able to contribute and be part of a progressing learning structure.
